Twelve pillars, one till.
Everything below is part of Basmtak Cashier — not an add-on, not a marketplace app. The chip on a pillar says the plan it starts on.
A counter that moves as fast as the queue.
Counter and takeaway on one screen, open tickets you can hold and recall, discounts and voids that ask for a reason and a manager PIN, returns by scanning the receipt QR — and an Arabic keyboard the cashier does not have to hunt for.
Open the pillar-
Open tickets, hold and recallA customer steps away; the ticket waits by name. Recall it on any till in the branch.
-
Discounts and voids with reasonsEvery discount and void names a reason and a manager PIN, and lands in the audit log and the voids report.
-
Returns and exchanges by QRScan the receipt's QR to open the original sale. Refund to the original tender; exchange in one step.
-
Quick keys and scanningQuick keys per branch, camera or HID barcode scanning, gift receipts, and a customer display that shows the basket.
The internet is optional. Selling is not.
Every sale is written to a local ledger on the device and signed there. The till keeps selling for days; the ledger syncs append-only and idempotently when the line is back, and nothing that was rejected is ever swallowed.
Open the pillar-
A local ledger on the deviceReceipts, payments, session events — each is a numbered event on the device. Power off, come back, carry on.
-
Append-only, idempotent syncAn event is sent once and acknowledged once; a retry returns the same answer. No duplicates, no gaps.
-
PIN sign-in works offlineCashiers and their PINs are cached on the till. A shift can start before the router does.
-
The sync-issues screenA sale the server rejects is listed with its reason, on the till and in the back office — never hidden, never auto-deleted.
Phase-2, done on the till itself.
Simplified invoices are signed on the device with the establishment's secp256k1 key and carry the QR even offline. Standard B2B invoices are cleared, credit notes reverse by reference, the hash chain is kept, and the signed XML is archived. Built for the Fatoora programme — by Cashier, not relayed through someone else.
Open the pillar-
Signed on the deviceEach receipt's QR is computed where it prints. A server outage never produces an unsigned receipt.
-
24-hour reporting guardThe till knows how long its unreported receipts have waited and says so before the regulation would.
-
Standard invoices clearedA B2B invoice with the buyer's VAT number goes through clearance and comes back stamped.
-
Credit notes, not editsA receipt is immutable. A correction is a credit note that references the original and reaches ZATCA the same way.
Every order reaches the pass once, and in order.
Bump and recall on the KDS, prep times per station, an expo screen, a call-name board for the customer, a drive-through lane, and a Ramadan rush mode. On the floor: plans, courses, seats, split by seat, table transfer, a waiter app, pay at table and a table QR.
Open the pillar-
KDS with stations and expoGrill, cold, drinks — each station sees its items; expo sees the whole ticket and bumps it when complete.
-
Call-name boardA screen the customer watches: preparing, ready, collected.
-
Drive-through laneOrder at the speaker, pay at the window, the kitchen sees the lane position.
-
Floor plans, courses, seatsDraw your floor. Fire courses in order, split by seat, move a table, merge two.
Scales, lots, serials, labels — the retail that others leave out.
PLU scales with tare, lots with FEFO expiry and automatic markdowns, serials, IMEI and warranty, shelf and scale labels in ZPL and TSPL, and SFDA RSD scanning for pharmacies.
Open the pillar-
Scales and PLUWeigh at the counter or read a scale label. Tare per container; the receipt shows weight and unit price.
-
Lots, FEFO and expiry markdownsSell the earliest expiry first. Set a markdown that applies itself as a lot approaches its date.
-
Serials, IMEI, warrantyA phone, a laptop, a watch — each unit by serial, with its warranty on the receipt and in the return.
-
Shelf and scale labelsPrint shelf labels and scale labels from the catalogue in ZPL or TSPL.
One catalogue, every branch, every channel.
Variants, modifiers, combos, barcodes and images; price lists per branch and channel; scheduled prices; recipes and yields; nutrition and allergens; seasonal menus. Stock per branch with recipe consumption, transfers, counts on a phone, waste, par levels, purchase orders and goods receipts that verify the supplier's invoice QR.
Open the pillar-
Variants, modifiers, combosSize and milk, extra shot, meal deals — modelled once, sold everywhere.
-
Price lists per branch and channelA mall branch, a delivery price, a happy-hour schedule — each a price list with its own dates.
-
Recipes, yields, consumptionA latte consumes beans and milk. Stock moves with every sale; waste is logged with a reason.
-
Counts on a phoneWalk the shelves with a phone, scan, count. Variances are posted with a reason.
Cards beside the till, never inside it.
Cash and split tenders; semi-integrated card terminals from Geidea and neoleap over ECR, so the till keeps selling while a card is tapped; Tap pay links; Tamara and Tabby by QR; refunds to the original tender; acquirer settlement matching and a card-fees dashboard. SoftPOS and gift cards are coming.
Open the pillar-

-
Tamara and Tabby by QRBuy-now-pay-later shown as a QR on the customer display.

-

-
Forecasts and prep listsTomorrow's expected sales per hour, and what to prep before the doors open.
The cashier's PIN is the punch.
A cashier's PIN or badge sign-in on the till counts as a Basmtak HR attendance punch; the roster is on the till; employees sync from HR; commissions, tip pools, an overtime warning and sales per labour hour. At the drawer: blind cash close with variance by tender, a Z report, safe drops, two drawers and float templates.
Open the pillar-
Sign-in is a punchNo second app, no forgotten clock-in. The punch lands in Basmtak HR with the till as its source.
